Rational Egoism: The Morality for Loving Life (2020)

Learn the principles of a moral code that helps you think clearly, excel in life, cultivate win-win relationships, and defend freedom on solid ground.

Learn the principles of a moral code that helps you think clearly, excel in life, cultivate win-win relationships, and defend freedom on solid ground.

Many people believe that morality comes from God and must be accepted on faith. Others believe that morality is a matter of personal opinion or social convention and is therefore subjective, not objective. And almost everyone believes that being moral consists in self-sacrificially serving others—whether God, the poor, your neighbors, or society.

But what if there were a moral code based on reason? And what if this code called not for giving up your life-serving values but for pursuing and achieving them—while respecting the rights of others to do the same? And what if this code provided you and others with extensive guidance about how to live a spiritually meaningful and fulfilling life.

There is such a morality. It’s called rational egoism. And it was created by the philosopher Ayn Rand, who held that “The purpose of morality is to teach you, not to suffer and die, but to enjoy yourself and live.”

In this course, you will learn the basic principles of this morality, including:

  • How rational moral principles are derived from reality by means of observation and logic
  • The fundamental values that are essential to human life and happiness
  • The principled actions that you must take to achieve such values
  • The social conditions that people must embrace and protect if they are to live as civilized beings, rather than as masters and slaves or aggressors and victims.

Sign up today, discover why Ayn Rand called rational egoism “the morality of life,” and transform your life with a moral code geared specifically to flourishing.
